Palermo
They say in Palermo it never rains! However, during my visit it was raining a lot, but this didn’t stop me from visiting the city and I also managed to take some photos without rain. To this day, a smile appears on my face, when I remember the vendor at the Ballarò market, who was selling a delicious bread with spleen (pane con la milza – in italian), screaming at the top of his voice: “Lo vuoi il panino? Panino con câ meusa” (“Do you want the sandwich? Sandwich with spleen! “) And the rest of the vendors who accompanied him shouting “Do you want the sandwich?” … this is called real teamwork! 🙂 For breakfast, I recommend to everyone Sicilian delights! Arancina or arancino – opinions are divided, cannoli and other delicacies from the nearby “rosticceria”. During my stay, I also participated at a district concert on the occasion of Patron Saint Feast, surrounded by Sicilians dancing and singing. It was a strange, but beautiful experience. I also recommend visiting the church of the Most Holy Savior, because of its original character, which makes it appear like a theater (a function that was performed after the Second World War). I really liked Palermo and I can’t wait to see other parts of Sicily.
