Malta
Malta, unfortunately, didn’t knock me out of my feet. I was even a little disappointed. Maybe because I had dreamed of going there since I was 16 and I haven’t traveled that much yet. Back then, it was quite an expensive holiday destination as it also offered an English course. My ideas about Malta were, above all, beautiful crystal blue waters, presented in holiday brochures and many parties. For party people, there are a lot of places, especially in Paceville, with many clubs and bars, but I had the impression that the average age of partygoers is 20 years old 😀 Probably if I went there, being at this age, I would be delighted.
When it comes to turquoise waters, unfortunately, I was not at all what I was expected. We went on a boat trip to the Blue Lagoon advertised everywhere and yes the color of the water was amazing, but the beach itself was a disaster! One of the worst I’ve ever been to. It was so small that literally, there was no place to put your stuff, not even speaking about laying down. Unless you’ve bought a spot on a sun lounger (by the way super expensive!). I didn’t like other beaches that we saw either.
However, what I really liked were the cities La Valetta, Gozo and Mdina, and a small charming fishing village Marsaxlokk in which we ate delicious seafood and fish and also took pictures on the bay at dawn, it was magical…The island quite corked, at least in the first half of September. That’s why we decided to rent a scooter and travel around without a problem. The distances are not large, and you can park anywhere. I highly recommend doing the same.
