Six Senses Rome Wedding Reception: Terrace Aperitivo + Intimate Garden Dinner
Some weddings aren’t about the “grand venue moment”. They’re about atmosphere. Texture. Light. The feeling you get when you walk into a space and instantly exhale. This Six Senses Rome wedding celebration had exactly that.
The day began with a simple ceremony at San Stanislao dei Polacchi, the Polish church in Rome, before we moved to Six Senses for the terrace aperitivo and dinner downstairs. The reception here was something else entirely. The terrace aperitivo felt like a little hidden world above the city, and the dinner downstairs… pure romance. Soft light, greenery everywhere, and that quiet kind of elegance that doesn’t need to prove anything.
Aperitivo on the Six Senses Rome terrace
The terrace at Six Senses is the kind of place you want to stay in for hours. Warm Rome air, gentle conversations, glasses clinking, the city doing its thing in the distance.
And the details… honestly, unreal. There were even strawberries growing in small pots, like little surprises placed just for you to notice. Everything felt considered, but never stiff. Relaxed luxury. Effortless.
This is my favourite part of a wedding day: when guests arrive, shoulders drop, and the real energy starts to flow.
Dinner downstairs at Six Senses Rome: greenery, candlelight, and intimacy
Then we moved downstairs, and the whole mood changed in the most beautiful way.
The space felt like an indoor garden, with lush greenery everywhere, warm tones, and the kind of lighting that makes people look softer, calmer, more present. It was elegant, yes, but also intimate. Romantic without being “too much”. The kind of room where people actually talk, laugh, and stay close.
That’s when the images start to feel like memories, not coverage.
Portraits in Rome, the next morning
The portraits you see here weren’t taken on the wedding day. We did them the next morning at sunrise, when Rome is still quiet and the light feels soft and cinematic.
That’s exactly why it looks the way it does: calm streets, gentle tones, no rush. Just a slow walk and the kind of morning glow you can’t fake later in the day.
Quick tips for a Six Senses Rome celebration
Plan aperitivo for the last hour of light. The terrace becomes even more magical as the city warms up into golden tones.
Keep dinner lighting soft and warm. Candlelight + greenery is the perfect combination for an intimate, romantic mood.
Give yourself ten minutes alone between aperitivo and dinner. That little pause makes the whole evening feel calmer and more present (and it always shows in the photos).
